Strieber says he saw at least 4 different types of 'aliens': greys, short hooded dwarves, a taller preying mantis type grey, and a nordic. In one 'abduction' he was taken into a room where there was this taller grey, a Nordic man, and a human woman who had a medical doctors lab coat on. (This might be in the second book Transformation.) Interestingly the 'aliens' let him take his cat along during the 'abduction' and when the 'aliens' asked why he wanted the cat, Strieber told them it would make him feel more at ease.
The tall grey was sitting behind a desk in a woodgrain panneled office wearing a suit while the Nordic stood behind the tall grey and the human female 'doctor' stood off to the side of the room. The head 'alien' then asked Strieber if they could do anything for him and Strieber asked if they could make him less afraid of the 'aliens'. The 'alien' said they would try but that they didn't think it would be possible.

A very interesting experience rich with symbolism and imagery.
Did he make this up? Or are we to believe that the 'aliens' enjoy a good theatrical performance?

Wouldn't the obvious answer be.....please give me something to take back so I know this is really happening to me!! Even if they said no.....I would certainly ask it anyway.

I admit, it's a complex and detailed piece of work. I don't know if he's sincere or not. But I lean towards a bit more skepticism than usual when hearing these stories from a person known as a fiction writer. As for the proposition that 'aliens' are theatrical or putting on a show of symbolic-imagery for their captive subjects, there are other possibilities that include elements of both ET and ED. I'm a moderate, so it's not a black or white issue for me.
The video interview in this thread offered singular observations by the experiencer. I didn't see the theatrical symbolism you interpret from Striber's experience.

But was it really an alien in a suit? Remember, we're dealing with his memories of the event and it's often said that screen memories are employed to make a situation less frightening. Or it's possible these beings have the ability (or technology) to manipulate our perceptions, so that this 'alien' only appeared to be in a suit.

Yes...and yet in not one single case over the last 50 years has any 'contactee or abductee' ever return with any hard evidence. Isn't that interesting?
