Mushrooms Key To Contact???

Ive been listening to a lot of Terrence Mckenna recently and he's come to the conclusion that Magic Mushrooms are the key to contact and E.T.s are here to help up evolve spiritualy and transcend dimensional boundars, i beleive there not going to come to this dimension, im gona meet them on a higher plane via mushrooms.. how do y'all fell about it? ive already almost had contact threw mushrooms myself but i wanna know what yalls opinions are

I would be very suspicious of the true motives of anything or anyone that encourages you to alter your brain state for contact. Although, I am very open to the idea that an altered state could make the means or abilities of the brain more possible on a scientific level, I would also at the same time be very open to the idea that the true motives weren't meant to be positive, but rather destructive in the nature and science of your brain (not enough is known). Don't over do it star....the likelihood of a long term negative effect on a personal level is very possible. And for pete's sake, don't believe everything you hear or read!

I personally do not take any mind altering drugs, so I can't advocate this.

There are many alternatives to taking drugs, but they are not as immediate. Various kinds of meditation will assist you to have more freedom to explore transcendental opportunities. A licensed therapist can assist you with various techniques, including hypnosis. There are books on lucid dreaming as well.

You can assist your goal by reading carefully selected books by those who have already attained the level and dimensions you wish to attain. Preconditioning your mind may assist you on your journey.

I have McKenna's books, watched his video interviews , and have experienced psychedelics many years ago. Neither myself or anyone else I knew back then ever saw any ET or anything quite like that while under the influence of 'shrooms'- organic or synthetic.
The actual studies done by Dr Strassman ,regarding DMT, and other researchers related some visions by some experiencers seeing 'alien ' like entities. Only a certain percentage had this vision.
This has also been written about in the book Supernatural by Graham Hancock who, as well as McKenna and others in the past, have postulated that such visions were often experienced by shamans and other mystics via altered states of consciousness. They were usually interpreted as gods or religious dimensional beings and not as space aliens but then the cultural ideas were different then in tribal societies.
As Chris pointed out one can also achieve such visions via rigorous meditation and such things as trance dancing and sweat lodges which the American Indians used.
Are these beings 'seen' space aliens or some other form of intelligence or are they even real beings at all? No one knows and it's a big mystery which is certainly related to human consciousness imo.

I agree with good points made in the posts above. I'd add that it is possible that some non-humans (ETs, transdimensionals, entities using hidden dimenssions) could be malevolent.

Take for example ourselves, a evolved, intelligent, opportunistic and predatory species (homo sapiens) who will exploit and kill others if it suits us, or when looking for a tasty snack. If we ended up as us, it is probable there are some folks JUST LIKE US sharing the universe.

So if you use some psychoactive enabler to meet 'others' you'd have to make realistic preparations to deal with any bad ones.

Even better, member ChrisPerridas idea: check up on writings of researchers who have already trodden that path, avoiding any risk to yourself.

The subconscious mind can be very creative. I would be suspicious of drawing any real conclusions concerning "reality" while under its influence via mushrooms or various forms of meditation.

And my question would be this ... why would any super realm entity require us to put ourselves into a hallucinigenic state in order to communicate with us?

Took the magic mushrooms on several occasions... felt weird but never saw any strange creatures. It's more like your sense of perception and touch alters a bit, nothing more than that. Inside corners appeared to stick outward and the colors casted by the tv screen made me see little dancing lights. I was constantly aware that what I saw had to come from the effect of the mushrooms, so I never felt scared. It's just your mind playing tricks on you although a friend of mine said he had an outher body experience while under the infuence of mushrooms. Said he saw his body from above... I can't relate to that at all. IF you decide to try the stuff... the dried ones work a lot better than the fresh ones. And oh... the taste man... the taste, it's horrible beyond comparising!

Fighting traffic, loving my family, being a workaholic, reading fantastic literature, and other mind altering experiences such as those. (Due to my personal spiritual beliefs, and also maybe because Dad was a raging alcoholic when I was a child and both my parents chain smoked when I grew up, I don't use tobacco or alcohol. )
