Why me? lol

Okay

I'll be sharing some of my personal experiences in here starting off as far back as my memory goes living in Alaska...

I vaguely remember seeing something weird outside my Fairbanks window when I was 3 years old...I don't remember what it was exactly or if it even had any significance but recently I had a "dream" that gave off characteristics of repressed memories...like my mind didn't let me remember until just recently what happened at that time in my life...basically I remember feeling terrified by what ever it was looking in my window...

Anyway...when I was 14 I started noticing dizzy spells, hyperventilating, minor twitching until eventually full blown seizures...I'm a military brat so we were stationed at the Azores at the time of my seizures...my step mother witnessed my seizure and said she noticed a bizarre triangle shaped "symbol" appear on my body during the seizure then it eventually faded away...went to the doctor they put me on Tegretol...didn't work...so I had to be sent to Germany for an MRI and other testing because they did not have the proper equipment to evaluate me...I was then diagnosed with a complex form of epilepsy but the doctors found a 3x4cm mass in my right temporal lobe that they claimed had no influence on my seizures...

yeah right...who knows...

I just know that my "epilepsy" is a mystery...but at least it's "controlled" now...

Let's not forget that when I was 13 I woke up one morning looked in the mirror and saw a perfectly symmetrical "arrow" pattern on my face...It wasn't any kind of skin irritation, burn, or imprint from sleeping like that...It was like someone gave me a temporary tattoo in my sleep...

and that's the end of story number 1 lol

I thought I better write this all down before I forgot the details.

I work in a four-story building. I came into work this morning and got on the elevator and pressed "4". The door had just about closed when the door re-opened and another guy got on and pressed "3".

At this point I should explain that the elevators in our building have never been known for their speed or smoothness.

So we get to the third floor and this guy gets out. The door closes again, but then nothing happens. I looked down and noticed that the indicator for "4" was no longer lit. So I pressed it again and the door immediately opens - there I was on the fourth floor.

There had been no appreciable passage of time, no sensation of motion, no nothing. Somehow, however, the elevator had gone from floor three to four. I came away with the definite sensation that I had just witnessed a magic trick (like the disappearing lady in the magician's box).

I know this is nothing major - just a minor Fortean moment. Still, I have to wonder what happened. The only thing I can come up with is that I wasn't quite awake, momentarily zoned out, and didn't notice the elevator going up one floor.

Anyone else have any experiences like this?

If you believed in a god, I think it would be a cruel deity, because that's all you took away from your experiences in numerous churches.

I cannot think of any promises that god or Jesus made that has any bearing on my life. The only promises are about the hereafter and that must be believed by faith alone as no proof was ever given....except by heresay. Actually, Daniel, everything is just heresay when it comes to religion!!!
You are very wrong about what I took away from my experiences with various denominations. They ALL preached about how loving and kind and caring god is....and how much Jesus loves us...blah blah blah.
Yet I can honestly say that I do not see any of that anywhere in the world. Actions speak louder than words and I see no action from on high.
How can I be under the influence of "the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air" when I do not believe in that either??? I am not a puppet and neither is anyone else. We all have to make choices for ourselves all our lives and we create our own destinys through those choices. It is just that simple, imo. There is no god or holy spirit that is going to "save" us or guide us or protect us. Just as there is no devil or satan who is going to lead us down a dark alley and bring evil into our lives.
You have changed religions too....so yes...you have shopped around or else you would have stayed in one place.

A Million Face �1,500 Bill Shock

More than one million people are facing a �1,500 bill for not paying enough tax thanks to a blunder at HM Revenue and Customs.

Over the next few months, almost six million people will be told they have paid the wrong amount of income tax.

It is thought a problem with the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) computer system means 1.4 million workers have underpaid.

They will have to fork out an additional payment of around �1,500 each, which will be taken out of their pay packets next year.

With an average of �1,428 being demanded, those affected by underpayments could be more than �100 a month worse off while the cash is clawed back.

But for nearly four million people it will be good news when they find out they are due a refund.

With a total of �1.8bn to be handed out, each could receive an average rebate of �418.

The first 45,000 letters from HM Revenue and Customs are expected to arrive on Tuesday with the rest due before Christmas.

Some individuals may find they have both underpaid and overpaid, with the payments cancelling each other out.

In some cases, HM Revenue & Customs say they will consider writing off demands where taxpayers can demonstrate they provided all the information necessary to calculate their tax correctly.

The problems arise because at the end of each year, HMRC checks that the amounts deducted in tax and national insurance by employers using the PAYE system mach up with the information held on their records.

In the past, this was done manually on a case-by-case basis, but a new computer system has now been introduced to automate the checks.

Can someone please help before I go insane. I've just had an ipod touch bought for me. Every time I plug it into my laptop it shuts it down. I keep getting an error page and I have to restart my comp. :cry

I have windows xp media on my laptop. Anybody else had this problem? :con I've spent 2 hours on this now and I'm just about at the point of stamping on the ipod touch with a very high heel.

Police use helicopter to track man who took kindling

Gareth Pope was suspected of theft so officers scrambled the force chopper � at �1,000 pounds an hour � to track him down and follow him back to his home.

The 41-year-old was out with his wife and five-year-old twins and had collected six bags of wood from the floor.

After being questioned by police officers on his doorstep in Stratton Road, Princes Risborough, Bucks., they realised he had not committed any offence.
A warden at the Chinnor Hill Nature Reserve had accused the father of "stealing" from the park.
Fuming Mr Pope said he was stunned to find the helicopter overhead when he got home.
"It is outrageous � talk about the police wasting our money," he said.
"This is so trivial � I was just out with my children and wife. I told the warden he could call the police.
"To me the biggest issue was they called a police helicopter out. When I saw it I thought, 'No, surely not.' It stayed there � this is a residential place in Risborough."
The warden had a "heated confrontation" with sales director Mr Pope who was with his wife Kirsty and five-year-old twins Kali and Aspen.
He refused to return the twigs � so the warden dialled 999 and police dispatched air support unit on Monday afternoon.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the helicopter was sent because it could get to the scene more quickly than officers on the ground.
"As police were unable to get back in contact with the warden, the force helicopter, based at RAF Benson, was mobilised at 3.36pm, as the nearest ground unit was at least 15 minutes away and the helicopter could be at the scene within five minutes," he said.
"The helicopter surveyed the nature reserve before being dispatched to an address in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, where the car seen at the nature reserve was located."
Doug Mackay, from the Chiltern Air Support Unit, said the helicopter was sent because they were told the incident was still ongoing.
"Information available to police suggested that a crime was in progress with a suspect still at the scene in a rural area," he said.
"The decision was made to dispatch the helicopter as it was only minutes away and there was a concern for the safety of those involved.
"The crew were able to quickly take command and control of the situation and brought the incident to a swift conclusion."
A spokesman for Chinnor Nature Reserve said: "The wood taken was kindling. It is fine for someone to take a few twigs but if it is done on a large scale then there are issues.
"This man had taken six bags. The area is of special scientific interest but the visitor is not prohibited from taking a bit on a small scale.
"He was confronted by the warden and there was a confrontation and the police were called

In 1968 the Stanley Kubrick/Arthur C. Clarke movie 2001 A Space Odessey was released for myself & countless others it is rightly called the best Sci-Fi Movie ever made the movie was a prediction of what life would be like some 33 years on obviously they weren't right with everything but they were pretty close on a lot of things here are a few i'm sure there are many others anyway here we go...

In 1968 space travel was acheived by building a huge missile putting men in a pod and blasting them into space but in the movie the prediction was to have a space station which was visited by a craft with wings this prediction was pretty accurate

Outlaw tri on sky sports 4

Hi all I am asking for some help. The iron man race (called the Outlaw) I did 3 weeks ago is going to be shown on Sky Sports 4 on friday 27/08/2010 at 20.30. I haven't got Sky sports so I'm hoping someone could record it for me, pop it on a disc and I'll handsomely reward whoever posts me the disc. :)
