There were 2 forums before Martin's ...I think a guy named joe ran one and I can't recall who did the other but there were some interesting people like Grendel, paul Nib, Frater Libre, Yipsl (daniel), and of course Carol and Dee

UFO Planet actually pre-dates Department 47. I started D47 when the X-Project started going down the tubes. Nagging tech problems, forum fatigue and the creation of UFO Evolution finally led me to close it down (has it been 3 years ago or 4?).

Having the forum was fun but it was more work and worry than I ever would have suspected. I especially feel for Martin on the days when the site is down for technical glitches. It's not exactly like NORAD being off line but it makes you crazy nonetheless.

It doesn't help that i'm a perfectionist.

Ahh Project X,does anyone remember where we all came from,Project X was created after the very first board I was on fell into one big heap,does anyone remember Parascope? Now that was a board with zero direction,we had some good discussions there but anyone could jump in and anyone did.

I take it the site "evolved".

I can't even recall what I was searching for when I found this board. Before I registered here I never took Ufology seriously enough to discuss online but I've been reading about it since I was a kid, mostly because I spent a large portion of my childhood in libraries and the Ufology section is so small it's easy to read it in its entirety. My main interest in strange phenomenon was not aliens but shadow people, because they have appeared to me several times. Then I found out about the Kelly Cahill case relatively recently, which makes me suspect they are a type of alien. That leaves me with more questions than the answers I was searching for however, but at least I'm at the right place to discuss that.

Didn't mean to leave out Dept 47......I was referring to the ones before that.
BTW still use my Dept 47 coffeee mug on a regular basis.
