Interesting, yes, but not, as far as I can tell, relevant to UFOs or aliens. So there was another, different type of homo around besides the neanderthals, and it was also eclipsed by homo sapiens sapiens. Nothing very extraordinary.

Scientists were able to analyse DNA from a tooth and from a finger bone excavated in the Denisova cave in southern Siberia. The individuals belonged to a genetically distinct group of humans that were distantly related to Neanderthals but even more distantly related to us.

Now this is befuddling,I could have sworn someone on another board said that the DNA couldnt be gotten by the enamel on the tooth.

Now this is something,this article says the dental pulp (does that mean gum tissue?)

The pulp would come from the inside of the tooth I believe.
I wasn't sure where to post this....we don't have a science or an off topic forum anymore.
I thought maybe it could be debated whether this new species could be somehow related to an alien intervention!!!......long shot...I know!!!
