Open Skies - Closed Files

Within the next 18 months the Ministry of Defence will complete their disclosure programme of UFO-related documents.

But some UFOlogists continue to demand they “come clean on all levels�. They believe there are more secret documents being held back that contain evidence of alien visitations.

I can reveal the only documents MoD intends to permanently conceal from the public concern their secret dealings not with aliens, but with a former member of their own staff – Nick Pope.

Is it just me,or does anyone else get the feeling that Nick Pope isnt to be trusted,I dont mean that he hasnt told what he knows but hes forever trying to make the public believe that he knows more than he actually does.

And yet Obama could call a newsconference at anytime claim ufos and aliens are real and it would be the end of any arguement,wanna bet? All it would take would be to have the lights dim and some footage shot by a fighter pilot all the right narrative and ET would be in like flint.Even Shostack would stop smirking.

Hi Carol,

I’ve been saying this for ages and I’m sure I posted a FoIA document request on this site made just after Pope left the post that he claims was the MODs ‘UFO Desk’. The reply clearly states the minimal amount of time & importance that the position afforded the UFO reports.

I’m disappointed in you Wu!!

You’ve obviously commented without following the link or apparently even reading Mercs post properly.

And to do so in such a negative manner directly contradicts your philosophy of being as well-read as you claim.

Or does your claim just apply to old books rather than new (relevant) information?

Heh, heh, it has nothing to do with UFOs really but rather the fact that the ‘ambassador for truth’ Nick Pope has actively requested that information pertinent to the MODs position on him, his musings and his claims be censored.

Worse still he’s succeeded.

The question is why?

Looks to me like it’s because the documents he formally requested not to release would reveal with certainty that the vast majority of his claims are based on nothing but speculation like the rest of us rather than information based on what he actually learned or knows. As well of course as revealing the way his claims were viewed by the MOD which instead of being one of dismay due to what he was disclosing was actually related more to do with -what they considered as- falsehoods he was perpetrating.

However I understand your position just not its relevance to the post Merc made or the Blog post he linked to, plus I guess I like to establish as best as possible which people -who are considered players in the UFO community- can be trusted to speak the truth.

I read the blog link.....and my post was genuine and to the point in that I don't think any govt would voluntarily release anything provacative on ufos assuming they had such material.

Ah Wu, I knew you would never admit you’re wrong but I didn’t think it was this bad…..

I read it too and as I’ve said this was about information on Nick Pope NOT UFOs and has absolutely nothing to do with the 'UFO Files' currently being released.

And in the first line of the first post you made you wrote:

Which was just wrong (and still is).

The Blog post is about nothing of the sort but is about Nick Pope formally requesting that information on him and what the MOD thought of him to be censored.

How does that equate to, "More files about ufos seen in the sky... etc ...etc..."

Or were you perhaps (god forbid!!) simply mistaken?
