B.O.L. - Balls Of Light
-----------------------------------------------

Invasion of Orange Flying Egg Shaped Objects

Chris Capps10/21/10 Printer Friendly Page

Several reports submitted to the Mutual UFO Network have come up involving strange low flying egg shaped objects in recent days and hours. The sightings all seem to involve a strange glowing red craft shaped roughly like an egg and moving with incredible speed as it maneuvers and wows witnesses. What are these incredible craft? And why are they appearing so suddenly and with such regularity?

The encounters were most recently reported just north of Kansas City and then just East of Topeka. The first witness was reportedly out watching the sky when suddenly a low object suddenly shot over the treeline and buzzed past him. As he looked up amazed, the object suddenly darted off into the distance and disappeared. It was approximately 15 feet in diameter and estimated to be extremely low over the treetops. This witness was incredibly interested in any information regarding his harrowing encounter.

The second witness, only six days later started his encounter when he decided to take his dog for a quick walk around the block. As he walked out into the brisk cool October air he suddenly chanced a look up and spotted a mysterious floating object approximately ten feet in diameter shoot out from the treeline and hover past him. As he watched, the object suddenly shot off in the opposite direction leaving him behind wondering what he had just seen.

The mysterious objects are fairly similar - although much lower than the objects seen previously during the fourth of July celebrations earlier this year. The strange reddish objects were spotted darting about and showed no similarities to any known fireworks or conventional aircraft - often changing shape and performing maneuvers beyond any known Earthly capabilities.

On the 8th of this month another strange egg-shaped object was seen in Indiana. That same night a separate witness in the vicinity would spot a mysterious being in his yard that looked to him exactly like one of the traditional grey aliens. The being he described had silvery grey skin, a large head, and black almond shaped eyes. While it may or may not be directly related to the other sightings, it seems quite coincidental that he would make his report two days and only a few miles from one of the sightings.

Some have suggested these objects could be nothing more than chinese lanterns set adrift, but these objects seem to have an unnatural mastery of the skies. They have been seen descending to near ground level only to then shoot off into the skies at incredible speed. Their ability to move against the wind and disappear only to reappear later do not seem indicative of a simple device utilizing the heat of a candle to set it adrift in the wind. Instead, these objects display an uncanny intelligence and an ability to exceed human capabilities for flight as well as an unnerving proximity to other paranormal occurrences.

What is this new model of UFO now appearing at the forefront of this mysterious invasion of UFO sightings happening daily?

Default B.O.L. Balls Of Light

We saw an orange ball of light, when I was a kid. Never forgotten it. We followed it until it disappeared and it was in the middle of the afternoon when we saw it. It was so strange that it's always there at the back of my mind.

I remember you mentioning that to me Jane in Members when I first joined the forum. It was an interesting sighting. Now we have a dedicated B.O.L. thread i'm going to re-post my B.O.L. sighting here. Jane why don't you do the same, it will save those people who are interested from trawling the site.

Best wishes !

Mac 5 2nd Sighting + investigation.

Tuesday 21st January 1997

I was looking through my landing window at the top of my stairs, I proceeded to cloud watch for a minute or two and was generaly looking around the car park in front of my house.

It was then that I saw the object, it was a perfect sphere and orange in colour. I would estimate its height to be 200ft - 300ft up and it's probable size to be 3ft.

The object was visible for 10 - 15 seconds, I then lost my view of it due to the trees outside. it moved across the sky in a perfectly straight line, it was not being buffeted by the wind and was moving in the opposite direction to the wind. It was Gale Force 5 that day. The object was traveling in a almost perfect east to west direction.

Investigation: 21st Jan 97

Telephoned Southampton Airport - No aircraft in area at time. No unknown air traffic on radar.

Telephoned Hampshire Police HQ in Winchester - The Hampshire Police did not have any R.P.V.'s at the time.

Telephoned MET Office - Knows of no Weather Balloon launches East of Gosport that day.
Quote's: "Our balloons clear 5000ft in seconds and operate between 20 and 45 kilimetres up."
"I believe Larkhill Military base are conducting balloon experiments today". (The Larkhill base is approx 39 miles N.N.W. of sighting. So it wasn't them).

Telephoned Civil Aviation Authority (Airspace Utilization Section)
There had been no Notification of activity from the military in the area mentioned.

23rd Jan 97:

Telephoned Gosport Police - No reports from public.
Telephoned Fareham Police - No reports from public.

Telephoned Naval Provo HQ, H.M.S. Nelson, Portsmouth - No reports from the public.

Spoke to Local Store manager in the hope that one of the staff had seen the object. They had a shift change at 10.00Hrs. - No reports from staff or public.

Spoke to all the neighbours - No reports.

Telephoned Local Newspaper:

A female witness reported a U.F.O. night time sighting within a 24hr time period prior to my own. I gave the reporter my details to pass on to her but I didn't here anything.

24th jan 1997:

Wrote to: Coast Guard Ops Centre, H.M.S. Daedalus

Responce: They did not monitor aeronautical radar - they had no reports from the public for that time frame.

Wrote to: BBC Radio Solent - no responce.

Wrote to: Ocean FM Radio - no responce.

Wrote to: The southern Echo Newspaper

Responce: A couple witnessed a Ball Of Light, Golden in colour at Cams Hill above the Town Hall, 1 - 2 weeks prior to my sighting.

27th Jan 1997:

Telephoned Southern Paranormal investigations Group

S.P.I. had got reports of B.O.L. (balls of light) activity at Portsdown Hill. Objects came in from the sea, flew over the Vickers yard and then proceeded to fly around the hill.

Colour - ORANGE- but prior to my sighting.

February 1997:

Wrote to: Police Air Support Unit.

Responce: "Between the relevant dates there were several movements through 24 hours by the Police aircraft and Search and Rescue helicopters. Numerous aircraft overfly the airfield that are unknown to us, usually in or out of Heathrow or Gatwick. In addition military activity is common in the area, and whilst some are notified to us, not all are."

April 97:

Wrote to: British Geological Survey Ref: Earthquake Lights

Reponce: There were no seismic events detected by BGS in january for the area.

Case Status: Open. Object: Unknown

My thoughts:
This thing seemed to be under intelligent control.
It must of had some power source to travel against a force 5 Gale.

Default B.O.L. Balls Of Light

This is really very interesting to me...
Coincidently, I just recently posted a story of a sighting made by my Dad of an 8 ft. diameter orange ball of light that would split into two smaller orbs, then back into one larger ball.
He watched the object for about 3 hours.
The story is titled "1934 Oklahoma UFO Sighting" on this forum.

My Dad was born in 1915. And he was not only a wonderful Dad, but he was also a great friend to me as well.
We had a sighting together back in 1974 that I might write about later, but I wanted to share something that him and some friends saw in the backwoods of Oklahoma in the year 1934. They enjoyed trotline fishing on the Poteau River all hours of the night, and although his Dad sold moonshine, Dad never touched the stuff. They would only make extremely strong cups of coffee over a fire built out on the bank of the river. One night while drying off around the campfire, one gentleman stepped outside the fire to relieve himself and in a curious voice said, "Hey...you fellows come out here and take a look at this". Where they were camped Dad called the "bottoms" a heavily wooded area. There was a clearing to the side of them with a huge oak tree in the middle. Up in the air about 100 feet coming around that oak, there was a orange ball of light about 8 feet in diameter. It flew in front of them and past where they were standing, behind them, out of their sight behind the trees, and in a couple of minutes back in their sight flying in an oval pattern. This object made absolutely no sound. After about 5 minutes of doing this, the object stopped directly in front of them and started to quiver, still not making a sound, and then split violently into 2 smaller orange objects half the size of the original. He said they bounced apart like they were repelling each other. Then the two followed each other almost like one was chasing the other. They traveled in the same oval pattern, but now at twice the speed. After about 5 minutes the two stopped, quivered, and then slammed into each other into the one larger orange ball, taking the same flight path, at half the speed of the two. The men watched this routine happen over and over again for over 3 hours. They finally just left as to go home. Dad had seen "swamp gas" before. Balls of light that would bounce along the ground for a few seconds and then disapper. He definitely did not believe what he saw that night to be swamp gas. There were no airports anywhere close by as for perhaps a beacon light for an explaination. Actually, there were hardly any airplanes in that area back in 1934. My Dad was an incredibly intelligent man of science. He taught high school science for 32 years. He passed away in '07 at the age of 91. And till the day he died he had no explaination to the phenomenon that he witnessed that night.

This orange B.O.L. is the closest thing i've seen that is similar to my sighting, it was filmed by the U.K. Police Brighton Air Suport unit. This clip is mixed with another case (Flir black & white footage) from St. Athens, if memory serves.

Student spots UFO over Swindon

By Anthony Osborne

HE might be concentrating on his college work, but Chris Moran is also wondering if we really are alone in the universe.

On two occasions on Monday night the 17-year-old spotted strange lights in the skies over Swindon. It was at 8.55pm when he made his first sighting.

Chris said: "We were walking out the back of Cricklade Road near some open ground and out of the corner of my eye I saw it for just a few seconds.

"There was this oval-shaped object, quite bright, hanging in the sky. It was really odd.

"As I turned my head to look at it, it reacted like it had been seen, and it zoomed off."

Chris turned to his friends but they all insisted that they didn't see it.

But just over an hour later there could be no doubt in their minds.

"I was in town near Eastcott Hill and I saw it again, and this time so did the others," said Chris.

"It looked like it was just a few hundred feet up. All the guys saw it and so did one man who had come out of a pub.

"It was incredible, but I cannot begin to think what it was.

"It was oval again, a bit like a rugby ball, completely silent, and then travelled off so fast, it would have been impossible to estimate its speed. I cannot believe I have seen this object twice in one night. Other people must have seen it."

Chris is confident what he saw was not an aircraft, helicopter or an astronomical object such as a shooting star.

"It seemed far too fast for anything I have ever heard of and it was silent, there was no rumbling or anything," he said.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence said they had not received any reports about UFO sightings over Swindon on Monday evening.

She said: "The MoD examines any UFO sighting reports it receives solely to establish whether there is any evidence to suggest that UK airspace has been compromised by hostile or unauthorised air activity.

"Unless there is such evidence the MoD does not attempt to positively identify what was seen."

The MoD has no role or expertise regarding the existence or otherwise of extraterrestrial life-forms and does not study such alleged phenomena.

"The MoD remains open-minded but to date we know of no evidence that substantiates the existence of these alleged phenomena."

White ball of light doing maneuvers over ocean, Myrtle Beach, SC

White ball of light over ocean east of Myrtle Beach, then planes to "investigate"

I saw something that was definitely not an airplane, or a seagull, or refracted light from Venus through swamp gas, right after the Slayer show behind the House of Blues, Myrtle Beach (2/22/07). I was perfectly sober though a little tired from the show, so I was sitting on the curb behind the HOB waiting for autographs in a crowd of about 30 people and was facing due E. At the risk of sounding like a fool to these strangers and losing sight of it in the sky by trying to share it, I chose not to draw attention to what I saw. I wish I would have thought to take the camera in my pocket out and snap a few shots, but I was in a state of shock.

It was just a hazy light ball and it was definitely airborne because along the back of the HOB is a fence that is at least a little bit taller than I am, but it is also 20-30 ft. away from the curb I was sitting on. Perspective-wise it was a good couple of feet above the fence. Behind the fence and off to the right, (the direction it was traveling), was a light pole some distance away with a light gleaming away in my face, and hotels in the distance along with shrubbery and branches along the back of the fence. It was a windy night, pretty clear and it was sometime between 11:30 and 12:00 AM. I was sitting on the curb smoking a cigarette and chillin' facing about E, away from the HOB towards the ocean and checking out the stars. I saw the typical air traffic and seagulls enjoying the windy night.

It was a small, faint and hazy white light and at first I thought, "That jet is hauling a$$!! I’ve never seen a jet moving that fast", then it struck me how much like a star it resembled. Because it was just a ball of light it was hard to judge it's size and distance, however if the planes that appeared after I saw it presumably went to the general area it was at, and my own judgement of perspective wasn’t too far off, it was definitely waaay out over the ocean. I checked it out on Google Earth; from the direction I was facing the shore was roughly .7 of a mile away, these planes and my own judgement of perspective put it AT LEAST a mile or more away.

It's path, from when I first noticed it started out parallel to the earth and traveled like this for maybe 5 seconds. Then almost a 90 degree turn at what seemed to be straight up, then another sharp degree of turn up and away at an angle, then another turn at a downward angle, and yet another at a down and backwards angle, then once it reached about where it's original path was, it resumed. Half of these turns were in a span of maybe 1-2 seconds, but no more than 3 at the absolute most and the other two were really short. Once it resumed it's "original" path it faded out after about 3 seconds. Like a lightbulb slowly going out, then instantly it began glowing again, so quickly I never lost track of it. From my perspective it was headed into the gleaming light, but it faded out for about a second, if only for a second and then came back to full glow before it "passed" behind the light pole and remained glowing, so I never lost it through the light. Now, on the other side of the light pole and after about another 2-4 seconds it faded out again for the second time and that's when I never saw it again.

I kept watching for it, but it never reappeared. It's path was straight, and looked very deliberate, not like it was a trashbag blowing in the wind or another seagull or something. The three things that have me pretty much convinced what I saw is some sort of a UFO is the blazing speed, the ease of the change of direction without even slowing down and that it was traveling in straight lines, not circling or twirling as if something caught in the wind. It was like someone was holding one of those laser pointers in the sky only it was faint and white.

I was glued to the sky, but saw no more. About 5-7 minutes later I saw two planes coming from the N along the coastline or there abouts and heading that direction, about the time they got where it was, I noticed another plane that must've come from the SW or that general direction. The two planes from the N went further S and I almost lost them behind the hotels and stuff on the horizon and then returned, while the other plane continued N for a few minutes and returned. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing, so I just stared in disbelief. I thought about telling some of my friends, but decided not to get picked on that night.

I documented this the next morning and waited to see if someone else reported this, but I’ve not seen anything yet. I am a believer and was before this incident, but still remain skeptical as to what I saw. If you also saw this, I urge you to report it. I also am attaching various files that may explain this in greater detail.

Default B.O.L. Balls Of Light

i had a very wild experience also, to which i owe my great fascination to all the wonders and beauty the universe holds, it baffles my mind. Me and two of my guy friends were on our way to my house, they were dropping me off. As we were driving, i look to my right and i see a glowing ball of light slowly dropping vertically behind the trees. "DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT?! WHAT IS THAT? TURN AROUND!"- I say. So they make a u-ey. We are now looking at the direction of the glowing ball of light which was to my right, north of us. The glowing ball of light was now..coming back up the vertical path, and heading toward us..horizontally. we were in the car..and this glowing ball of light went from the end of the street..passed right by us. slow. i cant even explain the feeling i had...i couldnt believe my eyes, and i was in awe. i felt..lucky. of course i went straight inside to my family and told them what i saw, and they still to this day, do not believe me. I have been reading alot about ufos, psychics, origins, about the universe as a whole...searching for some kind of peace, more to what i experienced, when i saw that there were others who saw these glowing balls of light. I thought maybe there WAS a different explanation, but in my heart, i feel i am very lucky to witness what i did, thinking..they MUST know i saw them, do they remember me? will they contact me? Every day, i look up into the sky and my heart just aches, i want to be up there, or at least..learn more about it, from them. is it strange, is it just me? Or am i not the only one who just wishes everyday to be just..on their ship..in their prescence? its in my mind..every single day. After witnessing that..2 years ago i have to add..i want to learn all i can...i am so glad i found your site. YAY!!!
