We saw an orange ball of light, when I was a kid. Never forgotten it. We followed it until it disappeared and it was in the middle of the afternoon when we saw it. It was so strange that it's always there at the back of my mind.

This is really very interesting to me...
Coincidently, I just recently posted a story of a sighting made by my Dad of an 8 ft. diameter orange ball of light that would split into two smaller orbs, then back into one larger ball. He watched the object for about 3 hours. The story is titled "1934 Oklahoma UFO Sighting" on this forum. |
|
My Dad was born in 1915. And he was not only a wonderful Dad, but he was also a great friend to me as well. We had a sighting together back in 1974 that I might write about later, but I wanted to share something that him and some friends saw in the backwoods of Oklahoma in the year 1934. They enjoyed trotline fishing on the Poteau River all hours of the night, and although his Dad sold moonshine, Dad never touched the stuff. They would only make extremely strong cups of coffee over a fire built out on the bank of the river. One night while drying off around the campfire, one gentleman stepped outside the fire to relieve himself and in a curious voice said, "Hey...you fellows come out here and take a look at this". Where they were camped Dad called the "bottoms" a heavily wooded area. There was a clearing to the side of them with a huge oak tree in the middle. Up in the air about 100 feet coming around that oak, there was a orange ball of light about 8 feet in diameter. It flew in front of them and past where they were standing, behind them, out of their sight behind the trees, and in a couple of minutes back in their sight flying in an oval pattern. This object made absolutely no sound. After about 5 minutes of doing this, the object stopped directly in front of them and started to quiver, still not making a sound, and then split violently into 2 smaller orange objects half the size of the original. He said they bounced apart like they were repelling each other. Then the two followed each other almost like one was chasing the other. They traveled in the same oval pattern, but now at twice the speed. After about 5 minutes the two stopped, quivered, and then slammed into each other into the one larger orange ball, taking the same flight path, at half the speed of the two. The men watched this routine happen over and over again for over 3 hours. They finally just left as to go home. Dad had seen "swamp gas" before. Balls of light that would bounce along the ground for a few seconds and then disapper. He definitely did not believe what he saw that night to be swamp gas. There were no airports anywhere close by as for perhaps a beacon light for an explaination. Actually, there were hardly any airplanes in that area back in 1934. My Dad was an incredibly intelligent man of science. He taught high school science for 32 years. He passed away in '07 at the age of 91. And till the day he died he had no explaination to the phenomenon that he witnessed that night. |
