UFO over China - 2010 Summer

Thousands of people saw it. A large object flying over the city called Hangzhou with a very long tail of 20 kilometers for over 2 minutes.

lol you're posting this on the wrong forums dude. This is a place where you post a video and you have people critizise you and get stick from people who portray themselves as persons of a superior intellect. A few in particular like to think they are smarter and Stephen Hawking and will try to make you look like an idiot. In basic, these forums can be hostile when it comes to anything to do with UFOlogy lol.

But I do agree with *scrolls up* Hopo UK. It 'looks' like a rocket launch. Though the trail seems to be a bit wide and bright. But the sudden puff at 0:32 could be the rocket jettisoning a stage it doesn't need any more.

But one must raise the point as to why the trail is so bright. I haven't seen US or Russian rockets do that before myself. Not even Europe either... I havent seen a rocket leave a super wide vapour/smoke trail. Perhaps I haven't been born long enough to witness a rocket launch. And it wouldnt be something I would search for on youtube lol. Though I am pretty sure a couple in here have seen a live rocket launch before.

I guess you could call it an 'Unidentified Flying Object' as we can't be quite sure what it is. Destined for space? Most likely. Extra terrestrial in origin? Not so likely. But it's a fantastic video all the same.

There's a very good reason for that; ufology is an interest in unknown aerial phenomena, not an obsession with pretending that well-documented rocket launches or transparent hoax videos are alien overlords come to enslave us all. There is, in fact, a big difference, although sometimes it's hard to tell.

Yes, but I was not aware that this was an exclusive "ufologist" forum !?

Last time I checked, the forum thread title was called "UFO & Alien Discussion". This title is an invitation for the people of the world to discuss the topic in all it's weird and wonderful glory. People should be free to voice their own opinions on this forum without the fear of being bullied or harassed.

Unfortunately, in the case of this forum, a small group of long-term posters choose to do away with manners and common courtesy when attempting to critique an other posters opinion or theory. They feel that it is totally acceptable to berate and put-down other people who hold differing opinions. These posters use sarcasm, name calling, passive aggression, and sometimes even outright aggression in an attempt to bully and intimidate. They fail in encouraging healthy discussion on the subject of aliens & UFO's - in all its forms, they fail in respecting and encouraging the members of the UFO Evolution community who are trying to contribute, and they fail in attracting new participating members to the community.

Have you guys noticed how the majority of the regular posters on this forum are usually the same small group of people ? Have you noticed the large disparity between lurkers and posters ? We have many lurkers, but few actual posters. Ever wondered why that is ?


I believe that this is what Hackle may have been alluding to in his post, to the attitude of some of the members of this forum.

This forum can be intimidating for prospective members who want to share their own opinion. I have seen plenty of one time posters who have been barked out of existence on this forum. Who cares if their opinions are far out ? As long as their opinions are not putting the safety of people in jeopardy, then what's the big deal if someone chooses to believe in Meier's stories, or chooses to believes that their great great auntie was a member of the Galactic Federation of Ewoks !? Why do people get so emotionally defensive when confronted with opinions that don't fit into their brand of logic or belief systems ?

If we feel the need to contend an opinion - which is our freedom to do so - then we all have the capability to do it in a respectful and non-aggressive manner.


Edit: As for my opinion on the footage. Looks like a missile to me, but then I'm not 100% certain.

If the "rocket" was launched over China there is significantly more particulate in the atmosphere that maybe responsible for the effect.

Anyway, as for the hostility, sure there are some people who post rude things, but the amount of posts complaining about this perceived hostility seems to far exceed the actual occurrences.

I also don't wonder at all about the number of lurkers not posting; Every forum on the internet has at least a 10 to 1 ratio of lurkers to posters.

The forums that have problems keeping members are the ones that censor people.
