Why Don't The Aliens Just Land?

But dont you wonder DD what would happen should these entities actually do just that,land on the lawn of the White House,I wonder if anyone has thought of that contingency.Do the secret service guys just open fire? You know what I would do were I them? Id first have a show of awesome power,like blowing up some valuable sightseeing trap that everyone goes to,the dust would clear and there would be absolutly nothing,then Id reinstate the object,hey Im an alien billions of lightyears ahead of mankind,remember?

Carol I bet you're right in that they have probably thought of it and have a plan in case it happens. I think it's common sense that if ufo's landed on the white house lawn, our systems of defense would swarm the entities, and the president and his family would be moved to safety. Now whether or not our systems of defense would attack would probably depend on the person behind the red button and the actions of the aliens who landed.

LOL, well you might have to be creative in how to get their attention if you wanted it to be peaceful, especially if the means of communication is different and the knowledge that there's exisitence isn't shared with the masses.

IMO the idea that they don't land because they are explorers and afraid of us is simply ludicrous.
Any species capable of interstellar (intergalactic even..) flight has long ago developed means to escape quickly and weapons to defend themselves or they wouldn't last long exploring other worlds.
If they are here and have been for as long as some think then they are just not interested in talking and are indifferent to us on that level. Space and other planets are full of natural resources so they aren't here for our uranium and they probably are well beyond fission/fusion tech anyway. Unless they also make jewelry they don't need our gold and they probably aren't here for the cattle steaks either (though it seems they like genital parts..).
Decades and most likely centuries and they haven't explored enough? Seriously..? IMO the only reason for being here so long without dialoguing with us indicates they have an agenda that probably is not in our best interests. We can all speculate on what that might be until they decide to share it's just guessing.

Are you kidding?? We travel out into space without the weapons aboard our travel vehicles to protect ourselves, I think it would be ludicrous to assume that just because they can explore doesn't necessarily mean they can totally act like God and be invincible or unable to make mistakes. And yes seriously, it could take decades and centruies just to set up shop, let alone explore and test to learn -- especially if the resources and subjects are foreign and you don't initially want to be discovered. We on our own planet have taken centuries to learn certain areas and are still learning -- it would be much of the same for any place that is foreign to our knowledge -- it often takes much time for progress. As far as the gold idea, gold is used in science for much greater uses than jewelry. The idea of the cattle mutilations sounds to me more like people here testing weaponry or medical equipment, but who knows, it could be aliens studying biologics.

And once they DO make themselves known and interact with us openly, that would end their ability to observe and monitor us au natural. Our behaviour would change once we know they are truly here. That is why, imo, the do abductions rather than expose themselves to the whole planet. Even some of the sightings could be planned to study reactions....and some are probably technical gliches...imo.
That saying in the bible...something about one day being as a thousand....or something to that effect....could have been their way of trying to tell our ancestors about time travel and how they can travel the universe. Imo, they DID make themselves known way back then ....and the result is....religion. Not at all what they intended....so they backed off and have remained in the shadows, so to speak.
Now they see that we have evolved into a hostile planet....with wars and cruel dictatorships and all kinds of weapons used to destroy each other!!!
Not only do we destroy humankind....we destroy our planet as well.
If I were them, I would not want to mingle with the inhabitants of this planet either!!!
All they have to do is tune in to the nightly news and that would scare them off for sure!!! Yikes!!!

I'm not sure what planet you are on.......we haven't gone anywhere but to the moon. When we get farther out we sure as hell will take weapons with us.
Decades for a space traveling advanced race?..maybe but I'm betting not , but not centuries ....and their science would be far beyond any applications of gold we might use.
Quit thinking so small as if they are only few years ahead of us. The odds are if they are here they are hundreds if not thousands of years beyond our tech. All bets are off regarding conventional thinking.
Bottom line they are not afraid of us ; they just don't care to talk.

If they don't want to be observed much, it's for some reason other than study in my view. By now, I'd assume their program here has gone beyond study, except for occasional updating.

Try reading Erhman. That stuff was written c late 1st century, and was intended as an excuse for the failure of holy joe #1 to make his "second coming." He supposedly hasn't showed up because the "divine calendar" is different from the human; we have to be real patient.

One thing that always struck me as silly is the notion that aliens are morally superior, and always were. I'd assume they were no better when they were at our stage of development. We all make mistakes and learn from them.

It's real hard to estimate just how far ahead they are, in terms of years. It could be that behind as we are, we're progressing at a faster rate than they did. Further, their progress might've stopped if e.g. they're satisfied with what they have. It wasn't uncommon in our own history for a culture to be practically at a standstill for some time, not because it couldn't progress further but just saw no need.

Bottom line they are not afraid of us ; they just don't care to talk.
