Ancient Alien TV Show Nonsense..?

A rip on the Ancient Aliens tv show......didn't really want to start a new thread but couldn't find the exact thread where the show was discussed a few weeks back . If one of the mods wants to move this under that original thread go for it.

While the main point of the episode is that aliens exterminated dinosaurs to make way for our species—a sci-fi scenario accompanied by some hilarious, mashed-together footage of dinosaurs fleeing from strafing alien craft, perhaps a preview of Dinosaurs vs. Aliens the movie—the various ancient alien experts do little more than assert that such an event must have happened. Surprise, surprise, they provide no actual evidence for their claims. Instead, they borrow evidence for fundamentalist Christians, who are never actually identified as such. Creationist Michael Cremo is identified only as the author of Forbidden Archeology, and Willie E. Dye is credited as a biblical archaeologist without any mention of his young earth creationist views. Ancient Aliens producers clearly did not care about the credentials or expertise of the talking heads they employed—just so long as someone said the right things in front of the camera.)

I agree that the episode about dinos was absurd; but I would be wary of those wishing to throw out the baby with the bath water. The AA series has its good days and its bad days, much as anything else. It is always up to the viewer to determine what makes sense and what does not -- just like with anything else.

I never said aliens killed off the dinosaurs...nor do I believe that it happened that way. I think our ancient history is a combination of fact and fiction....the fiction part being man's misinterpretation of events and inability to correctly depict said events......the fact part being what science has proven so far.
When fundies start moving their lips....I zone out...no matter what show they are on!!

I think Ancient Aliens raises some interesting questions. The problem I have with it is the conclusions it reaches. 'Ancient Aliens' isn't the only possible scenario and by forcing every piece of anomolous evidence into that conclusion up front, the good evidence is tainted by association with the wacky stuff.

unfortunately, I think the series has run out of ideas and is stretching beyond its legitimate questions into inappropriate subject matter. time to axe the series or make some brand new discoveries.

I remember when I decided that aliens were really a highly developed type of insect that evolved long before man did,I was actually proud of that thought mostly because I thought at the time it was original,it wasnt,now that time has passed Ive accepted that aliens arent insects or share their dna with aliens..now Im into their being demons..ducks again.
