Is Ufology over?

Just participating in this forum and "above top secret", and sometimes reading the leading blogs, I worry that the myth is beginning to recede. Now someone has said it out loud:

Declining numbers of “flying saucer” sightings and failure to establish proof of alien existence has led UFO enthusiasts to admit they might not exist after all.

Enthusiasts admit that a continued failure to provide proof and a decline in the number of “flying saucer” sightings suggests that aliens do not exist after all and could mean the end of “Ufology” – the study of UFOs – within the next decade.
Dozens of groups interested in the flying saucers and other unidentified craft have already closed because of lack of interest and next week one of the country’s foremost organisations involved in UFO research is holding a conference to discuss whether the subject has any future.

Yeah it's easy to get demoralized, but...

It's been around for 65 years already. Trust me, all it'll take is a major new wave or case, to revive interest.

People have always seen and experienced paranormal events...ufos and other things. It will not stop because it's part of our nature in an archetypal manner that's part of our psyche.
These things have been reported from the time man could write and even draw. To me they are far more than just the simple idea that they are ET in ufos. Some could be that but the larger enigma is part of who we are.

If the paradigm morphs, then UFOs will be gone from the vocabulary like Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox. Just a footnote in history.

If it morphs....but the basic structure of what we call the ufo phenomenon seems to have not changed a lot for centuries. We seem to overlay our expectations on it and use a different name/model.

I thought this might fit in here and I didn't want to start a new thread............Carol and perhaps Chris even will like this article.
I make no claims on supporting this theory ...but I like reading the esoteric models as well as the more mundane ones.
